We know who is Adam Biblically. He is the husband of Eve and father of Cain and Abel.
Adam was created according to God's own image and the first man made by God. And that's all.
The mystery behind Adam and his name are not well known to mankind because most of the people don't read the Holy Scripture and don't dig the Bible. But if they will only open the Bible and will not only based their doctrines to those preaches claiming they are teachers and spiritual gurus.
Searching the Bible is a must, if you want to learn deeper on the Scripture.
"Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. "(John 5:39)
In the Book of Genesis, Adam is not only a name but it is also a race of human being.
"Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created."(Genesis 5:2)
God gave Adam the dominion over all things.
"And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth."(Genesis 1:28)

Why modern Adam? Because we are now in last days, mystery of the first seal have uncovered, Adam is not a living soul anymore, Adam in the modern day is a spirit quickening.
"And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit."(1 Corinthians 15:45)
The modern Adam was not perfecting for earthly perfection but in God's righteousness.
"Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand."(Daniel 12:10)
The Spiritual Adam are continuing to purify their bodies and souls, changing their fashion and style of life to become acceptable in front of their Creator while the Literal and Materialistic Adam are still doing the classical way of living since God demolished them inside the Garden of Eden and making their wickedness doable and even more.
"That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."(Ephesians 4:22-24)
The Modern Adam are now dress with spiritual garments made by God while Classical Adam are still naked, never knowing their shameful bodies.
"Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. "(Revelation 16:15)
