Let's Talk About Treasure and Spirituality

"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. " (Matthew 6:21)

Do you understand what The Word was trying to say about treasure? In this post we will discuss all about treasure and it's relevance on spirituality.

What is treasure?
According to man treasures are valuable things like gold, precious stones, jewels, money and anything with a high price value.
In the middle of Second World War, humors from veteran soldiers said, that almost all treasures around the world was spoil by German and Japanese armies. In the time of their occupation, Japanese army took also the treasures from the Germans and brought all this valuable things from a small island called Philippines. When World War II was near to end, many Japanese treasure holder tried to hide their spoils from the said island. Until now, the secret of this treasure was not yet reveal from the people of the Philippines. Humors also said, the small island was the most wealthiest and riches when it comes to treasures.

Other meaning of treasure
For some people, it is not gold or money but for some of them treasure can be also a type of things which have sentimental value, like a house or a lot, a person, a word of wisdom, a pet, etc., etc..

All of the above was treasure according to man, this is what The Word said, where your treasure is, there will be your heart also. If you only treasure your gold, then your heart will be there too. And when your heart is in your earthly gold your heart will not last long because the gold you cherish will become garbage on the day God will judge this world.

"They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity."

(Ezekiel 7:19)
Earthly treasures
cannot save us from death, even it has a high price on this world, it cannot filled our hunger and thirst when the great tribulation comes. So why put our heart on earthly treasures?

What kind of treasure can save us from death
"Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death."
(Proverbs 10:2)

Many people don't believe that righteousness is a treasure, a treasure that can help and save us from death.

How can righteousness save us from death
For example, there is a person who wants to kill you and he is very angry on you, if you pay love from the person who hates you and show him righteousness or doing good things in front of him, all his hatred on you will be lost. This will result in peace, when one person understand his enemy's weakness. If your enemy was on fire, you must be as cold as ice so that you can neutralize the heat.

The power of spiritual over material

Story of powerful and rich man

We can see that treasure cannot save man from danger or death. Even you are the most powerful person in the world you cannot secure your life.
There was a rich and powerful politician I know. He have lots of bodyguard and his house was full of security like traps and cctv camera and k9 dogs, but one night when he sleep on
his precious bed the next morning that rich and powerful man never ever wake up
anymore. Imagine how powerful that man is? And how rich that man? But
in a matter of second his power and wealth was taken away from him? His power
and wealth did not secure him from death.

"And he spake a parable unto them, saying,
The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
And he thought within himself, saying,
What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said,
This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I
bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou
hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be
merry.

But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."
(Luke 12:16-21)
A poor and beggar man
I have seen plenty of them on sidewalk, under the fly over road and sometimes they just keep on walking on the street and sleep where they are if the night comes. But the mystery on how they live even they have no money to buy, they have no shelter to live on, and they have no nice clothes to wear was still an amazing facts that most people dont care about,
because The Word said,

"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? "
(Matthew 6:25-26)

"And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: "

(Matthew 6:28)
"Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all
these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. "

(Matthew 6:30-32)
